Zipit® Wireless Messenger 2 Receives Best of Show Award at Digital Life Expo
Z2 Recognized as Best of Show in Portable Gear Category by PC Magazine
October 10, 2007, Greenville, S.C. — Zipit® Wireless Messenger 2 (Z2) received the “Best of Show” award for the Portable Gear category at the DigitalLife Consumer Expo, which was held in New York City September 27-30. As a Best of Show winner, the Z2 was recognized as one of the most innovative, useful, and fun products at DigitalLife and one of the hottest products available this holiday season.
The Z2 was selected for this recognition from more than 200 exhibitors at DigitalLife, one of the largest consumer electronics and entertainment events in the United States. Along with the Best of Show award, the Z2 was also inducted into 2007 DigitalLife Innovators Class, which marked the second time a Zipit device has received this distinction.
The new Z2 is a sleek portable, Wi-Fi instant messaging (IM) device that provides convenient access to IM without tying up, or being tied to, the family computer. The Z2 is the only device that offers wireless IM connectivity with no monthly or per message fees and supports all the major IM platforms – AOL, Yahoo and MSN. On any home wireless network or any open or free wireless “hotspot,” the Z2 allows teens to have multiple, concurrent conversations with their friends, across all popular IM networks for no fee.
In addition, the Z2 includes a fully capable music player called “MyTunez™” that provides instant access to music collections stored on an optional Mini-SD card or streamed from the Internet. Teens can also view photos and slideshows with the built-in “MyPhotoz™” feature. The Z2 can be easily personalized with unique skins, backgrounds and more through www.zipitwireless.com.
“We are very excited to have received this award from PC Magazine,” said Frank Greer, CEO and president of Zipit Wireless Inc. “To be named ‘Best of Show’ in the Portable Gear category is an honor and further validates the Z2’s unique features and strong consumer value proposition. The Z2 solves the common problem of teens vying for time on the family computer to IM with their friends and does so without additional fees or the hassles associated with the PC. Parents also value the Z2 for doing away with unsolicited messages from strangers and eliminating access to inappropriate Web sites.”
